I sure hope I don't get sued for including part of the Top Gun theme song in my opening guitar solo. I dedicate this track to everyone who loves Top Gun. My fave scene is the one where they play volleyball to the Kenny Loggins track "Playin With the Boys." Anyway, this song has a funny story behind it. I had a dream that it was Halloween and Christmas at the same time. I was dressed up as Santa Claus. On my street, half the houses were decorated for Halloween, and half were decorated for Christmas. At the Halloween houses, I'd get candy in my sack, but at the Christmas houses I'd leave a toy. I got to the end of the block, and it was the scariest house of all. The walkway was long and dark, and choked with cobwebs. As I walked down it, I heard a horrible moan, and a fearsome spectre came whooshing down the path and passed through me, leaving me gasping and clutching my heart in fear. I felt a tug on my coat, and turned around to see little boy dressed in the classic bedsheet ghost costume. Somehow I knew this boy to be the child version of Bill Cosby (this was long before his tarnished public image). He told me "Mister, you need to take the kiss of life from the jaws of death." Not sure what it all means, but it was awfully specific. Anyways, like good 'ol Robert Plant says about Stairway in The Song Remains the Same (the movie, not the tune): "I think this is a song of hope."
